Job description
The AVKit Engineering team is looking for a top-notch, skilled senior engineer who is motivated to help design and build media playback UI across Apple's products. You will design and implement new features, as well as UI APIs for both Apple and third-party adoption. You will also work closely and collaborate with other engineering and design teams to implement system media UIs.
Requirements
Media, Graphics & Compute Technologies (MGCT) provides the media and graphics foundation across all of Apple's innovative products, including iPhone, Apple Vision Pro, Apple TV, Apple Watch, iPad, and Macs. The AVKit Engineering team within MGCT provides the media playback UI across Apple's innovated products. The team is responsible for implementing media application frameworks which support playback and editing of audiovisual media, as well as local media playback, video-on-demand, and live streaming. The AVKit framework is used across Apple products such as Safari, TV, Photos, Music, FaceTime, iMovie, and 3rd parties, across all platforms. We are looking for a Senior Engineer with an excellent technical and programming background and great communication skills with working experience in the media domain to help us build innovative media playback experiences., 5+ years of programming skills, preferably in Objective-C and Swift
Deep knowledge in Operating System design and concepts
Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to crisply and clearly explain advanced concepts
Proficiency in developing with Cocoa or other application frameworks
BS or MS in CS/CE
Preferred Qualifications
Expertise in solving and triaging complex bugs
Demonstrated problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
Excellent understanding of optimization and performance issues across OS software layers

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $139,500 and $258,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
