Job description
The Web Developer for Development Information Systems is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications and digital platforms that support fundraising, alumni engagement, donor communications, and advancement operations. Reporting to the Director of E-Commerce & Marketing Cloud Architect, this role collaborates with marketing, communications, IT, and advancement leadership to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing digital experiences aligned with institutional goals.
Web Development Design, develop, test, and maintain UFF websites, landing pages, and web applications. Utilize latest technologies such as React/Vue/Next.js. Utilize latest vendor provided solutions for alumni/donor interactions (GiveCampus, Experience Cloud, etc.) Build responsive, accessible, and user-centered digital experiences. Maintain and enhance CMS-driven websites and microsites for fundraising campaigns and alumni initiatives. Ensure ADA accessibility compliance and web standards adherence (WCAG).
Integrations Spearhead version control initiative for all new code (Git). Collaborate with Advancement Intelligence teams to support system enhancements and new feature implementations. Coordinate with Advancement Intelligence integrations teams to ensure web applications integrate appropriately with CRM and other central systems. Integrate analytics via Google Analytics/Google Tag Manager and similar technologies.
Application & System Support Troubleshoot application issues, resolve bugs, and provide ongoing technical support. Participate in system upgrades, testing, and deployments.
Performance Optimization & Analytics Optimize site speed, performance, and search engine visibility. Implement tracking tools and analytics to measure campaign effectiveness.
Marketing Cloud Assist in developing Marketing Cloud-specific solutions (SSJS, Ampscript). Assist in developing automations and workflows in Marketing Cloud.
Security & Governance Maintain secure coding practices and adhere to institutional IT security standards. Conduct regular code reviews and vulnerability assessments. Ensure proper documentation of systems, workflows, and integrations.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience, or an associate's degree and four years of appropriate experience., Qualifications:A bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience, or an associate's degree and four years of appropriate experience., Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, web development, or related field (or equivalent experience). At least two years of relevant experience, education and/or certification in designing, developing and maintaining a complex WEB environment. Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (React, Vue, or similar). Experience with CMS platforms (e.g., Drupal, WordPress, or enterprise CMS). Experience working with APIs and third-party system integrations. Strong understanding of responsive design and accessibility standards. Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, project management skills, and effective time management and organizational skills. Accuracy, attention to detail and a customer service-oriented attitude. Should be familiar with Microsoft ASP.NET (either VB.NET or C#). The ability to solve problems, using investigative research and analytical skills to develop and implement creative solutions. The ability to take initiative, accurately establish priorities, complete complex assignments with urgency and accuracy, and adapt quickly to changing needs and conflicting challenges. Strong interpersonal abilities and the capacity to engage effectively and collaboratively with a wide range of individuals are essential.
