Job description
The Quality Software Engineer II is an established individual contributor responsible for ensuring software systems meet rigorous quality standards throughout the development lifecycle. This role involves defining, implementing, and maintaining quality processes, conducting evaluations, and supporting verification and validation activities to ensure compliance with project, process, and contractual requirements. A strong background in robotics and experience analyzing software logs for quality and reliability are highly valued., * Perform detailed software log reviews to identify anomalies, ensure compliance, and improve system reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including robotics engineers, to achieve quality objectives and project milestones.
- Develop, modify, apply, and maintain standards for software quality methods, processes, and procedures.
- Evaluate software activities across requirements, design, development, documentation, integration, testing, verification, and validation.
- Review software design, change specifications, and plans against requirements and standards.
- Assess specifications, tools, techniques, and methodologies for compliance and effectiveness.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, OR Master's degree with 0 years of experience.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, quality assurance principles, and regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with verification and validation practices, requirements traceability, and testability.
- Experience with robotics systems and software log analysis for troubleshooting and quality assurance., * Knowledge of robotics frameworks and integration testing.
- Experience with automated log analysis tools and scripting for quality checks.
- Familiarity with medical device standards (e.g., IEC 62304) or safety-critical systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in complex software environments.
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$76,800.00 - $115,200.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
