Job description
The primary duty for this position is to conduct training classes throughout the United States for end users of Mueller products. Additionally, this person will conduct In-house training for employees, manufacturers' reps, and distributors. Other duties include mentoring and training Jr Territory Managers on product and sales training needed for promotion to Territory Manager positions. This non-exempt level professional position has no direct reports, but will have lead oversight in the absence of the Senior Training Manager, who is the direct supervisor for this position.
Extensive travel is required for this position, particularly during the months of April - November. During this period, the schedule may include two weeks traveling with the following week at the office. Travel will be primarily accomplished using the Mueller training truck, and will include frequent air travel. This position is based at the Mueller regional office in Chattanooga, TN. During non-travel periods, this person will be conducting in-house distributor training classes from Chattanooga and participating in National Sales meetings.
Duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:

Plan and conduct product training throughout North America (US & Canada) from April - November. Conduct approximately 50 training classes during travel season, training 3000 attendees annually.

Conduct approximately 10 - 12 In-house training classes for company staff and distributors. These sessions typically last 2.5 days and train about 250 attendees annually.

Present product updates and technical training on new product introductions at National Sales meetings.

Serve in a lead capacity by Mentoring and developing Jr Territory Managers to increase product knowledge and public relation skills

Create and conduct training classes through the company's distributor network.

Create and conduct In-house training for our salesmen and our distributors

Develop content for new infrastructure, technology and software training courses as assigned by manager.

Research competitors' products and potential new product offerings.

Develop web-based training for company web site.

Oversee setup and take down of product displays while traveling.
Requirements

Mechanical aptitude.

Public speaking experience and ability; must be comfortable speaking to groups of 30+ individuals.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly utilization of PowerPoint for presentations.

Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the United States, via truck or plane, as necessary. Travel is estimated to be 65% or greater.

Must be able to lift in excess of 40 lbs. to maneuver products during presentations and displays.

Passport, or the ability to get a passport quickly as this is required for travel into Canada., * Minimum of five (5) years' experience managing a water system or selling/servicing water distribution products.

Previous sales experience in the water distribution industry.

Previous work experience in a product-training role.

Benefits & conditions
During travel periods, primary work hours will vary dramatically. During non-travel periods, work hours at the Chattanooga office will be Monday through Friday. Regular start time while working in the Chattanooga office will be 7:00 a.m. with an end time of 4:00 p.m. Overtime will be required on a frequent basis, particularly during travel periods. The Technical Presentation & Training Specialist position is non-exempt and does qualify for overtime pay.
Salary/Pay Range:
$30.00 - $33.00/hour USD
The compensation range above reflects a good-faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time (40 hours per week) employment as of the date of posting. Individual compensation may vary depending on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the role, professional experience, job-related skills, achievements, and/or work location. The range listed is only one component of the total compensation package offered to candidates.
