Job description

The Infrastructure Solutions Architect & Business Partner acts as the primary liaison between the IT Infrastructure department and key business units (HPS, R&D teams). Your mission is to understand business objectives and work with the internal functions to develop and deploy end-to-end technology solutions that are scalable, secure, and cost-optimized. You will move beyond "keeping the lights on" to ensure that infrastructure is a competitive advantage for the organization., Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Strategic Alignment: Partner with business unit leaders to develop a 2-3 year infrastructure roadmap that supports their specific growth targets.
  • Solution Design: Partner in the design, feature and functional testing, deployment architecture of complex infrastructure solutions (Network and security appliances, Servers and storage, Hybrid Cloud, Edge Computing, VDI, etc.) from concept to production.
  • TCO & Financial Oversight: Develop Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and Return on Investment (ROI) models.
  • Vendor & Ecosystem Management: Lead the evaluation of third-party vendors and SaaS providers, ensuring they integrate seamlessly into the existing enterprise architecture.
  • Architecture Governance: Ensure that all business-specific solutions comply with global security, data privacy, and disaster recovery standards.
  • Stakeholder Management: Present complex technical architectures to non-technical executive audiences, securing "buy-in" and funding.
  • Delivery Oversight: Global deployment planning and overseeing the implementation phase, ensuring the engineering teams build and support the solution as designed.
  • Ensuring that the development and support teams are actively involved in the implementation and post implementation phases.

Requirements

  • Cloud & Virtualization: Deep proficiency in AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform and VMware.
  • Data Architecture: Understanding of high-availability databases, Data Lakes, and server and storage technologies.
  • Connectivity: Knowledge of SD-WAN, Global Load Balancing, and high-speed interconnects, deep understanding of routing and switching.
  • Automation: Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/Ansible) to ensure repeatability of solutions.
  • Business Acumen: Understanding of P&L, operational workflows, and how infrastructure impacts the "bottom line."
  • Consultative Selling: Ability to "sell" a technical vision to internal business partners.
  • Strategic Influence: Influencing stakeholders without direct authority to prioritize security and scalability.
  • Agility: Adapting architecture designs quickly as business priorities shift.

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

Typical Experience

  • Experience: 12+ years in IT with deep relevant experience in Networking with Cisco, Dell, Broadcom, Aruba and on operating systems such as IOS and SonicOS , with at least 5 years in an Architectural role and 2+ years in a client-facing or business partnership capacity.

Typical Education

Education: Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an MBA with a technical focus. * Certifications: TOGAF 9.2, ITIL v4, or COBIT. * Technical: AWS Solutions Architect Professional or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
