Job description
The Senior Network Engineer will work within a dedicated team of Network architects and engineers tasked with rethinking NBC's global edge and campus network infrastructure. The selected candidate will define and implement NBCUniversal's NextGen Network according to standard and best practices, working closely with partners and stakeholders to gather requirements and derive possible solutions. The candidate will also serve as a technical resource, providing guidance and advice to other Operations & Technology teams and participating in on-call support escalation rotation.

Excellent systematic problem-solving approach, with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to articulate security objectives to a variety of audiences.

Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and to communicate effectively with internal and external partners.

5+ years of experience in enterprise implementing, maintaining, and supporting network firewalls, remote access solutions, load balancers, routers, and switches.

3+ years of experience in leading network initiatives, identifying, deriving and document network and network security requirements.

Experience with high-availability network and network security designs and associated protocols; Dual-ISP, first-hop redundancy, geo-diverse failover, cloud regionality/availability zones.

Advanced Routing and switching experience with BGP, OSPF, ISIS, EVPN-VxLAN, MPLS.

Participate in operational on-call rotation for support of 24x7 production on-air network infrastructure.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Cisco and/or Arista Networks experience

Palo Alto Networks PCNSE/PCCSE or equivalent experience

Understanding of network security and cloud security concepts and best practices
Benefits & conditions
This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Beginning January 5, 2026, hybrid employees will be required to work from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
