2+ Years | $60,000 - $80,000 | Huntsville, AL | Active Secret Clearance Required Help engineer the systems behind U.S. missile defense-developing requirements and architecture that power Ground Fire Control capabilities protecting the nation. A Day in the Life - What you'll do
- Develop and support system requirements for the Ground Weapons System (GWS) and Ground Fire Control (GFC) mission software.
- Contribute to the systems engineering lifecycle including requirements analysis, architecture development, and system integration.
- Collaborate with software, test, and mission engineering teams to ensure requirements traceability and capability delivery.
- Utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches to support system architecture modeling and design.
- Assist in the verification and validation of system requirements supporting Missile Defense Agency (MDA) mission capabilities.
- Support the development of systems engineering documentation including specifications, use cases, and architecture descriptions.
- Participate in technical reviews, engineering discussions, and program collaboration activities.
- Travel up to 10% to support program coordination and mission integration events.
Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university.

2 years of related systems engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree

0-2 years of related experience with a Master's degree Technical Requirements

Solid understanding of systems engineering principles and lifecycle processes

Experience applying systems engineering methods to develop product and mission solutions

Familiarity with systems engineering tools including DOORS, Cameo, and MBSE frameworks

Experience supporting software development and requirements verification activities

Experience supporting large-scale missile defense systems such as Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD)

Strong communication skills for technical collaboration and documentation

Ability to think critically and translate concepts into engineering artifacts, presentations, and technical discussions

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within engineering teams

Ability to support an in-person / closed-area development environment

Ability to travel up to 10% to support mission needs

Active in-scope DoD Secret security clearance required at time of application Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting the Missile Defense Agency Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) program

Experience supporting Battle Management or Fire Control systems

MBSE or INCOSE certification

Experience developing systems engineering artifacts including specifications, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), use cases, system architecture descriptions, and trade studies
