Job description

Kforce has a client in Durham, NC that is seeking a Data Engineer. Responsibilities:

  • Partnering with other technology collaborators to understand requirements to provide solutions
  • Designing scalable technical solutions, keeping in mind business requirements and architecture roadmap
  • Implementing Test Driven Design & Development in a CICD mode in support of DevOps
  • Prioritizing and functioning in a fast-paced environment with focus on quality
  • Willingness to seamlessly adapt to changing technology landscape
  • Identify technical debts, make remediation recommendations, and lead the efforts
  • Communicate effectively with extended teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technology related field (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) required with 10+ years of experience
  • 5+ years of Application experience using Java/Spring Batch
  • 3+ years of Python development experience
  • Advanced SQL/SnowSQL knowledge and experience working with snowflake database
  • Good experience in working with AWS (Batch, S3)
  • Hands-on experience on SQL query optimization and tuning to improve performance is desirable
  • Experience in job scheduling tools (Control M preferred)
  • Proven data analysis skills
  • Strong data modeling skills doing either Dimensional or Data Vault models
  • Good to have - working experience with some or all of the following: AWS, Containerization, associated build and deployment CI/CD pipelines, Lambda development
  • Experience with DevOps, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (Maven, Jenkins, Stash, Ansible, Docker)
  • Proven track record to handle ambiguity and work in fast paced environment
  • Good interpersonal skills to work with multiple teams in the organization
  • Experience in Agile methodologies (Kanban and SCRUM) is a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
