Job description
As a Staff Cloud FinOps Analyst- Eng, you will be a key driver of financial accountability and optimization across our public cloud environments. This role combines deep expertise in public cloud cost governance, cost allocation, and data analysis with strategic leadership to embed cost awareness into architecture and design decisions. You will partner with engineering, finance, and business leaders to deliver actionable insights, optimize cloud spend, and standardize governance practices across the enterprise., Governance & Strategic Leadership

FinOps Governance and Rhythms of Business, including forecasting, budgeting, optimization tracking, and reporting.

Establish long-range plans and monthly forecasts for public cloud cost and usage.

Act as the Resident FinOps practitioner for Strategic Line of Business driving public cloud governance and accountability.

Define and manage FinOps KPIs and Metrics, ensuring transparency and measurable success.
Cost Awareness & Architecture Integration

Embed cost "shift-left" principles into design and architecture by integrating cost into guardrails.

Provide cost-to-serve insights to inform pricing strategies and capacity planning decisions.
Optimization & Enablement

Support commitment strategies and partner with engineering on forecasting and budgets.

Drive tagging, allocations, and unit-cost visibility across services and teams.

Identify and track optimizations and realized savings; accelerate optimization initiatives across pillars.

Standardize forecasting and planning processes; enable engineers with education, dashboards, and anomaly triage.
Reporting & Tooling

Develop and maintain dashboards and reports for cloud cost, optimization progress, and risk tracking.

Coordinate tooling access and implementation for cost management and reporting.

Translate complex billing data into actionable insights for executives, engineering, business and product leaders.
Collaboration & Demand Planning

Collaborate on Infrastructure demand planning and customer migration tracking across GCP and AWS environments.

Partner with Finance and technical owners to reconcile Cloud spend and ensure accountability.
Requirements
- Experience:
o 5+ years in FinOps or cloud financial management roles.
o Minimum 2+ years hands-on experience with GCP (or similar - AWS, Azure) billing concepts.
- Technical Skills:
o Strong proficiency in Excel and enterprise financial systems (SAP, Oracle).
o Familiarity with cloud-native cost tools and third-party FinOps platforms.
- Core Competencies:
o Budget governance and forecasting.
o Cost allocation and tagging strategies.
o Advanced data analysis and executive reporting.
o Strong collaboration and communication skills across technical and financial teams.
Preferred Qualifications:

FinOps Certified Practitioner or Professional.

Experience with multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, Finance or Accounting, or related field (MBA preferred).
Benefits & conditions
The pay range for this position is $102,300 to $147,050. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and work location. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible to participate in a performance-based bonus plan and to receive restricted stock unit awards as part of total compensation.
