SAP Digital Manufacturing (DM) Lead Consultant / Solution Architect

We are looking for a passionate Industry 4.0 expert to lead the technical and functional design of SAP Digital Manufacturing (DM) solutions. In this high-impact role, you will bridge the gap between the physical shop floor and the digital enterprise. You will be responsible for implementing SAP s cloud-based MES/MOM solution (SAP DMC), integrating it with SAP S/4HANA, and leveraging SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) to drive real-time visibility, AI-driven insights, and paperless production for manufacturing clients. You will act as the trusted advisor to clients, guiding them through their digital transformation journey., Solution Architecture & Strategy

Lead workshops with clients to understand manufacturing processes (discrete and process industries) and translate business requirements into a comprehensive SAP DM architecture.

Design end-to-end solutions leveraging SAP Digital Manufacturing Cloud (DMC), including Execution (DMCe), Insight (DMCi), and Scheduling components.

Define integration strategies between SAP DM, SAP S/4HANA (PP, QM, EWM), and heterogeneous shop floor equipment (PLCs, SCADA, historians).

Architect solutions on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), utilizing services for analytics, machine learning, and edge computing to enhance manufacturing operations.

Implementation & Delivery

Lead the configuration and implementation of SAP DMC, including production model setup, production process definitions, resource management, and labor management.

Oversee the customization of digital work instructions and shop floor data collection mechanisms.

Guide the development team in building necessary extensions and custom UI5 applications on SAP BTP to meet unique client requirements.

Manage the integration development using SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) or Edge services to ensure seamless bi-directional data flow between the shop floor and top floor.

Technical Leadership

Act as the technical authority for the SAP DM track, mentoring junior consultants and developers.

Collaborate with IoT, AI, and data science teams within IBM to embed predictive analytics and machine learning into production processes (e.g., predictive quality, predictive maintenance).

Ensure solutions adhere to ISA-95 standards and industry best practices for manufacturing operations management.

Support the entire project lifecycle, from blueprinting and realization through go-live and hypercare.

Experience: 7-12+ years of experience in SAP manufacturing solutions, with at least 2-3 full lifecycle implementations of SAP Digital Manufacturing Cloud (DMC) .

Core Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM), and Industry 4.0 principles.

SAP DM Expertise: Hands-on experience with SAP DMC modules:

Execution (DMCe): Production orders, routing, resource scheduling, labor time tracking, and material staging.

Insight (DMCi): Configuring KPIs, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), dashboards, and utilizing analytics for root cause analysis.

Master Data: Production models, bill of operations, resource hierarchies.

Integration: Strong experience integrating SAP DMC with SAP S/4HANA (PPDS, QM, PP) and EWM.

Experience with shop floor connectivity (OPC-UA, MQTT, RFC, CPI, Edge Integration Cell).

Cloud & Platform: Familiarity with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and cloud operations.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (Master s preferred).

SAP Certified Application Associate SAP Digital Manufacturing Cloud.

Experience in specific industries such as High Tech, Automotive, Industrial Machinery & Components, or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG).

Knowledge of SAP Plant Connectivity (PCo) and Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence (MII).
