Job description

We are seeking highly cleared professionals who excel at the intersection of advanced communications infrastructure, distributed systems, and mission assurance-where reliability, security, and performance are paramount. Specifically, we are looking for a TS/SCI cleared Task Area Lead - Systems Administrator - SME to support this mission at Pope Army Airfield, North Carolina., As a Task Area Lead/Systems Administrator - SME, you will provide technical and management leadership for all equipment and information support functions across the Task Order. Your responsibilities include:

  • Provides strategic technical and management leadership for defining the overarching vision, policies, and operational standards for C2ISR Data Transport Infrastructure systems administration support across the entire enterprise, spanning on-premise, virtualized, and cloud environments.
  • Establishes enterprise-wide goals and long-range strategic plans for the broad management, secure, and efficient operation of global transport infrastructure systems, directly impacting C2ISR mission capability and resilience through architectural design.
  • Serves as the principal authority on complex network configuration management (e.g., SDN, SD-WAN integration), advanced performance monitoring, and enterprise-wide technological resource optimization within the C2ISR environment, including disaster recovery and business continuity.
  • Leverages deep domain and expert technical knowledge to conduct comprehensive system audits, develop advanced mitigation strategies for operational vulnerabilities (e.g., zero-day exploits), and integrate innovative, proactive administration solutions (e.g., AI/ML for anomaly detection, self-healing infrastructure).
  • Engages in high-level client negotiations and strategic interfacing with senior management, shaping administration policies, resource allocation, and technical standards with critical impact on C2ISR mission effectiveness, global operational readiness, and future technology adoption.
  • Utilize the following TO Management & Financial Tracking Tools: Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate); MS Project; Primavera; GFP management modules; WBS tracking systems; ServiceNow; Jira Service Desk;; SharePoint libraries; Confluence; Microsoft Search; lessons learned databases; video library repositories; Archer GRC; internal audit portals; Excel/SharePoint audit templates; CMDB with version control; Power BI with R/Python integration; Tableau; predictive analytics engines; Teams; Azure AD role based access; mobile access via Power Apps.
  • Utilize the following Role Specific Tools: Operating system administration tools (Windows Admin Center, Linux shell utilities); virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Hyper V); Active Directory and LDAP; Service Desk ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Remedy); remote desktop support tools (Microsoft Remote Desktop, TeamViewer); backup and disaster recovery platforms (Veeam, Commvault); SIEM tools (Splunk, ArcSight, QRadar); network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG); configuration management databases (CMDB); documentation templates for compliance and reporting; endpoint security tools (McAfee, Symantec, CrowdStrike)., * Travel: May require occasional travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites for logistics coordination and facility assessments

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Task Area Lead/Systems Administrator or similar role supporting a DoD customer at the CCMD level

  • Minimum of 10 years applicable experience

  • A current, active DoD security clearance at the TS/SCI level

  • US citizenship is required

  • DOD 8140 Compliance based on functional role for WRC: 451 Systems Administrator, Advanced Level / ability to obtain

Desired Qualifications:

  • Must complete DoD-approved IA baseline certification for ADP-III/IT-III based on the IAT level and CE/Operating System (OS) certificate within six months of the assignment.
  • Minimum of 12 years' experience with BS/BA, or 10 years' experience with MS/MA

This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
