Job description
Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a Security Engineer to join our team. The Security Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining and enforcing cyber security policies across Williams. The Security Engineer will monitor our Information Systems environment as it pertains to CMMC and SecDevOps support. The Security Engineer will build automated monitoring alerts and response playbooks that replace slow, manual intervention, directly lowering the potential cost of a security breach. By engineering redundant, secure architectures, this role minimizes downtime caused by DDoS attacks or malware, preserving DevOps productivity.
The Security Engineer will also:
- Infrastructure Protection: Plan, implement, and upgrade security measures (e.g., Firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, Data Loss Prevention) to protect data, systems, and network infrastructure
- Performance Monitoring and Systems Analysis: Continuously review network/system activity to detect, analyze, and mitigate unauthorized access, security breaches, and potential network optimizations
- Demonstrated competencies with network tools such as Wireshark, Nmap, Qualys, Splunk, as well as Cloud security management products
- Vulnerability Management: Perform penetration testing ethical hacking testing to identify and remediate weaknesses in systems and applications in accordance with system plans
- Incident Response: Serve on the front lines for security breaches, providing swift analysis and remediation of network or security incidents
- Security Architecture: Develop and maintain secure network designs, adhering to industry and regulatory standards such as CMMC, NIST 800-171, and NIST 800-53
- Collaboration: Work with Software DevOps and IT teams to ensure security is embedded ("secure by design") throughout the development lifecycle
Requirements
Do you have experience in System performance monitoring?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Sciences, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or related discipline is required
- 5 + years of experience supporting the following Technologies:
- Infrastructure Protection
- Performance Monitoring and Systems Analysis
- Demonstrated competencies with Network tools
- Vulnerability Management
- Incident Response
- Security Architecture
- U. S. citizenship is required
- Position requires the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Security Clearance, if needed. Candidates selected may be subject to a U. S.
