Senior Software Engineer

Caterpillar's Development and Process Tools (DPT) team develops and delivers system and software development applications for Caterpillar's engineering community and customers. These applications are essential and critical to the development and support of Caterpillar's products.

As a Senior Software Engineer in the Development and Process Tools you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing software applications that contribute positively to the Caterpillar's product line. We are looking for talented and motivated software engineers to join our team of experts to enhance and expand our suite of solutions. What You Will Do:

• Leverage various technology stack elements including to create web-based and desktop software applications.
• Design and implement software features into software development tool solutions that are utilized by global engineering teams.
• Maintain pulse on emerging tools, software practices, and technologies to improve solution cost and quality.
• Collaborate with technical experts in other areas of Caterpillar to define new innovative ideas and leverage lessons learned throughout the organization.
• Provide technical support to global user base when required to ensure quick resolution of issues.

Technical Troubleshooting: Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application or operation.

Considerations For Top Candidates:

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, or information systems OR equivalent working experience
• Process Management
• Workflow Management experience
• Software Build Process Management experience would be ideal for this role
