The Design Development Lead is responsible for leading the design development phase of branch and office projects, ensuring that design intent is maintained through detailed documentation and coordination. How You'll Spend Your Time
- You will steward and evolve the Kit of Parts (KOP) and visual standards to align with business priorities, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- You will ensure brand consistency and design integrity across all environments by applying and enforcing visual standards on every project.
- You will lead conceptual design efforts for new and legacy branches, including early test fits to evaluate feasibility and optimize layouts.
- You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and internal partners to tailor designs to sitespecific conditions while maintaining brand and operational excellence.
- You will proactively identify and resolve design challenges by delivering innovative technical solutions and expert guidance to meet project objectives.
- You will clearly communicate updates to standards while advancing modern design approaches that enhance client experience and operational efficiency.
Requirements
This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field, and at least 5 years of experience in design development, project coordination, or architectural documentation, preferably within banking, retail, or commercial environments.
- Advanced proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp) and documentation standards.
- Strong understanding of architectural design principles, building systems, and construction methods.
- Ability to coordinate and resolve technical design issues across multiple disciplines.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills for working with architects, engineers, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
- Experience in site-specific adaptation and technical problem-solving.
- Detail-oriented approach to documentation, quality control, and project tracking.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, permitting processes, and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
