The Senior Digital Engineer / Senior Application Analyst - Digital Engineering will be responsible for implementing, configuring, supporting, and optimizing clinician and patient engagement technologies. This role requires strong technical expertise, hands-on solution development, and cross-functional collaboration with clinical, operational, and technical teams. The ideal candidate has experience with both Epic and broader digital health technologies and is passionate about delivering a unified, user and patient-centered digital experience., * Contribute to the design, build, integration, testing, deployment, and support of Epic and non-Epic patient engagement solutions.
- Configure, maintain, and optimize applications across platforms such as Epic Ambulatory and Inpatient modules, Epic MyChart, Epic Cadence, patient-facing mobile apps, digital communication tools, and web-based systems.
- Perform workflow analysis, requirements gathering, and system design to meet clinical and operational needs.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues, including APIs, integrations, web components, and infrastructure dependencies.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal partners to resolve issues and support system enhancements.
- Participate in solution design reviews and ensure adherence to Montefiore standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support project activities including documentation, testing cycles, go-lives, upgrades, and performance improvements.
- Stay current on digital health trends, interoperability standards, and emerging technologies.
- Provide technical guidance to junior team members and contribute to knowledge-sharing efforts.
- Participate in a 24x7 rotating on-call schedule, including occasional on-site support as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Epic certification in at least one module, such as MyChart, Ambulatory, ClinDoc, Cadence (Ambulatory certification required within 3 months if not currently certified).
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience supporting, configuring, or developing software applications in healthcare, digital, or enterprise environments.
- Exposure to various technology:
- APIs, system integrations, interoperability (HL7, CDA, FHIR, XDS.b)
- Web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Programming or scripting (Java, .NET, Python preferred)
- Database querying and certificate management
- Monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting web applications or services
- Experience implementing or supporting digital applications (clinical user solutions, patient portals, mobile apps, web services, or backend systems).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with users, technical teams, and stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)., * Experience with patient engagement platforms, telehealth technologies, and digital front door tools.
- Familiarity with ONC/CMS interoperability rules, TEFCA, and 21st Century Cures Act requirements.
- Exposure to IIS or Windows Server environments.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), sprint planning, and backlog management.
