Job description
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Level 3 Systems Engineer (DevOps) to join a team responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining DevOps resources for multiple product teams. This role focuses on automating build and deployment processes, provisioning managed services, and optimizing infrastructure performance., Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and scripting to automate tasks, provision managed services, and build tools using Terraform, Ansible, and Python. Install, configure, and provide performance tuning for Kubernetes and cloud-native logging and metrics collection tools (e.g., Elasticsearch, Grafana/Prometheus). Manage GitLab CI/CD pipelines to automate building, testing, and deploying code utilizing GitLab runners and Argo CD. Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure, including EC2, Lambdas, EKS, RDS, S3, EFS, and EBS, using Terraform and auto-scaling. Troubleshoot infrastructure issues to ensure system uptime and application reliability. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to optimize system performance and support mission requirements.
Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 20 years as a Systems Engineer on programs/contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts
Education: Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college/university; five (5) additional years of SE experience may be substituted for a degree Proven expertise in DevOps practices, automation, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and Kubernetes
Desired Skills Experience managing GitLab CI/CD pipelines and Argo CD Kubernetes experience with a focus on EKS Familiarity with FOSS tools such as Elasticsearch, Prometheus/Grafana, PGAdmin, deployable in Kubernetes via Helm charts Knowledge of various Kubernetes storage classes (GP3, Longhorn, EBS, etc.) Strong problem-solving skills and ability to optimize application performance and reliability
