Job description
In this role, you will support the data center network infrastructure, including implementations, migrations, and decommissions of routers and switches. The ideal candidate will consult on complex initiatives with broad impact, analyze large-scale network engineering challenges, and contribute to the resolution of multifaceted situations requiring a solid understanding of policies and procedures. This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week onsite, with the ability to work some nights and weekends as needed. Responsibilities:
- Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Network Engineering
- Review and analyze complex, larger scale or longer-term Network Engineering challenges
- Contribute to the resolution of complex situations requiring solid understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
- Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel
- Support data center network infrastructure implementations, migrations, and decommissions
Requirements
- 5+ years of Network Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education
- 5+ years of experience with configuration of routing and switching platforms and solutions, specifically Cisco Nexus and/or Arista product lines
- Experience in routing and switching methods such as VXLAN overlay networking
- 5+ years of experience with IP routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, RIP) in a large enterprise environment
- 5+ years of experience designing LAN/WAN/Datacenter solutions for large enterprises
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule with 3 days per week in the office
- Ability to work some nights and weekends
Desired skills:
- CCNA, CCNP/DP or CCIE Certification preferred - Data Center
- Strong understanding of QoS configurations to support enterprise standards
- Strong understanding of the following layer 2 switching protocols: Spanning Tree, Trunking, Etherchannel
- Strong understanding of the following: MLAG, EVPN, CVP, Multicast, HSRP, CBWFQ, DSCP, NAT/SNAT, TCP/IP, Ethernet
- Strong understanding of DNS/domain services
- Python/Ansible/GITHUB experience
- Experience and familiarity with Change control processes, such as Service Now
- Excellent documentation and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated skill with creating and/or updating technical design documentation
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Visio Professional
- Experience working in an agile environment utilizing Atlassian Jira products
- Experience in a large Financial Services environment
Pay range: $59.53 - $67.53 per Hour Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
