Job description

The Software Engineer (multiple openings) is responsible for the analysis, design, testing, development and maintenance of best-in-class software experiences. This role takes responsibility of the software artifacts produced adhering to U.S. Bank standards in order to ensure minimal impact to the customer experience. Specific duties include: (1) design, develop, test, operate, and maintain software products by considering scalability, reliability, and performance; (2) build and manage complex large-scale Web development projects; (3) design and develop enterprise web applications using Java, J2EE, Struts, Spring Framework (including Spring MVC), multi-threading, Servlet, XML, JavaScript, and HTML; (4) migrate applications from monolithic to microservices architecture as well as building, deploying, and designing scalable REST APIs and microservices with Java, J2EE, and Spring Boot on Kubernetes; (5) work with middleware technologies TIBCO, Active MQ, Kafka and resolving security vulnerabilities using Fortify, BlackDuck, and Twistlock; (6) perform analysis on failures, propose design changes, and encourage operational improvements; (7) deploy code to multiple environments using CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) and collaborate with business partners for end-user testing; (8) work on underwriting concepts, integration with credit bureaus and third-party vendors; (9) work with Websphere, JBoss EAP, Oracle, AWS, Rancher, Kubernetes, SOAP UI, Postman, Kibana, Splunk, AppDynamics, Sitescope alerts, and Datadog; (10) conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to identify and resolve issues encountered by business/users; and (11) perform unit testing and debugging to ensure high-quality, stable, and scalable code., Must also have 36 months of experience with each of the following: (1) designing and developing enterprise web applications using Java, J2EE, Struts, Spring Framework (including Spring MVC), multi-threading, Servlet, XML, JavaScript, and HTML; (2) migrating applications from monolithic to microservices architecture as well as building, deploying, and designing scalable REST APIs and microservices with Java, J2EE, and Spring Boot on Kubernetes; (3) working with middleware technologies TIBCO, Active MQ, Kafka and resolving security vulnerabilities using Fortify, BlackDuck, and Twistlock; (4) working on underwriting concepts, integration with credit bureaus and third-party vendors; and (5) working with Websphere, JBoss EAP, Oracle, AWS, Rancher, Kubernetes, SOAP UI, Postman, Kibana, Splunk, AppDynamics, Sitescope alerts, and Datadog. Requirements

This position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Systems Security and 5 years (progressive, post-baccalaureate) experience building and managing complex large-scale Web development projects.
