Job description

The Senior Platform & Connectivity Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, operations, and optimisation of enterprise infrastructure platforms within a multi-tenant Managed Services (MSSP) environment.

This role focuses on container platforms (Red Hat OpenShift), enterprise storage systems (Huawei storage stack), and observability solutions, ensuring high availability, performance, and operational resilience across customer environments.

The role also supports secure enterprise connectivity solutions, including Enterprise APN and mobility integrations, as part of broader infrastructure service delivery.

  1. Platform & Container Engineering
  • Deploy, administer, and optimise Red Hat OpenShift clusters across enterprise environments.

  • Manage cluster lifecycle activities including upgrades, patching, scaling, and performance tuning.

  • Support containerised workloads, namespace governance, RBAC policies, and multi-tenant architecture.

  • Integrate OpenShift platforms with CI/CD pipelines and enterprise identity systems.

  • Ensure high availability and resilience across container platforms.

  1. Enterprise Storage Management (Huawei Stack)
  • Operate and manage Huawei enterprise storage systems (SAN, NAS, and object storage).

  • Perform storage provisioning, replication configuration, backup integration, and capacity planning.

  • Monitor storage performance and implement optimisation strategies.

  • Ensure data protection, encryption, and access control compliance.

  • Support storage integration with virtualisation and container platforms.

  1. Observability & Monitoring
  • Implement and manage enterprise observability stack solutions (metrics, logs, traces).

  • Develop dashboards, alerting frameworks, and SLA monitoring for managed environments.

  • Integrate monitoring platforms with infrastructure, container, and storage layers.

  • Perform root cause analysis and performance troubleshooting using observability tools.

  • Drive continuous service improvement through data-driven insights.

  1. Connectivity & Mobility Integration
  • Support secure enterprise connectivity solutions including Enterprise APN and VPN integrations.

  • Collaborate with telecom core teams on connectivity requirements where applicable.

  • Assist with integration of mobility services (eSIM, 4G/5G connectivity) into enterprise environments.

  • Support connectivity integration with SD-WAN, SASE, and cloud platforms.

  • Mobility expertise is advantageous but not the primary focus of the role.

  1. Security & Compliance
  • Implement platform security controls across OpenShift and storage environments.

  • Enforce role-based access control (RBAC) and secure authentication mechanisms.

  • Ensure compliance with enterprise governance, regulatory standards, and data protection requirements.

  • Support secure remote access and certificate-based authentication frameworks.

  1. Service Delivery & Client Engagement
  • Serve as technical lead during infrastructure onboarding and transition phases.

  • Provide performance, utilisation, and capacity reporting for customer environments.

  • Support incident management aligned with ITIL processes and contractual SLAs.

  • Participate in service reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Support pre-sales technical solutioning and proof-of-concept activities when required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in cloud, infrastructure, or managed services environments.
  • Hands-on experience administering Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes-based platforms.
  • Experience operating enterprise storage systems (Huawei preferred).
  • Experience implementing or managing observability / monitoring platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux systems and IP networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, DNS, firewall concepts).
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and managed services delivery models.
  • Preferred certifications - Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes certifications, Huawei storage certifications, Cloud certifications (Azure / AWS), ITIL certification
