Job description
The Chase Digital Technology & Architecture team seeks motivated, experienced architects to lead strategy, modernization, engineering acceleration, and business innovation. The team provides strategic leadership in digital product domains, DevOps, and engineering practices, enabling application teams to excel. Architects will be responsible for partnering with senior leadership in the business and technology to define and evolve multi-year strategies, incorporating business objectives as well as enterprise technology objectives. Architects must have strong digital transformation and product delivery experience and be capable of producing practical, valuable and credible guidance/architecture for product teams. Architects must also be comfortable in managing and reducing complexity in technology portfolios, as Chase's strong history of market success and acquisitions has gathered a wide range of technology solutions, leveraging vendor and proprietary solutions through modern cloud technologies., * Represents a product family of technical governance bodies
- Provides feedback and proposes improvements to architecture governance practices
- Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in industry-standard security best practices for public-facing digital applications.
- Guides evaluation of current technology and leads evaluation of new technologies using existing standards and frameworks (AI/ML idea generation and GenAI-based solutions)
- Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
- Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Drives decisions that influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
- Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
Requirements
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Experience in using LLMs (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini or other models ) to solve business problems, including full workflow toolset, such as tracing, evaluations and guardrails
- Advanced in one or more programming language(s), applications, and architecture
- Advanced knowledge of software architecture, applications, and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
- Practical cloud native experience
- Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to select or recommend the best solutions for the future state architecture

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience with AI/ML, Agentic AI, LLM and Generative AI is preferred.
- Prior experience as a Solution Architect or similar role in digital web and mobile application development.
- AWS Certification preferred
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Prior banking or fin-tech experience preferred
