Job description
- Content Creation & Scheduling: Create graphics, Reels, carousels, and captions across WBR's social media platforms. Build and maintain a weekly content calendar, scheduling posts at optimal times for each platform.
- Tone & Brand Management: Adapt voice and format across departments ranging from energetic fitness content to compassionate mental health messaging, within a unified WBR brand.
- Community & Platform Management: Monitor and respond to comments, DMs, and mentions in a brand-appropriate way. Escalate sensitive or crisis-related content immediately per WBR protocol.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Coordinate with the graphics team to align creative assets with the content calendar. Support collaborative posts with Health Promotion and other campus partners.
- Strategy & Reporting: Attend weekly planning meetings with content ideas tied to department goals. Track performance metrics and share data-informed takeaways with the team.

Requirements
Well-Being & Recreation is looking for a creative, self-motivated Social Media Specialist to manage our presence across multiple social media platforms. You'll build and maintain a content calendar, create platform-optimized content for multiple departments including Fitness & Recreation, Counseling & Psychological Services, Health Promotion, and more, and collaborate closely with our graphics and marketing team. This is a great opportunity for a student who wants real experience managing a multi-dimensional brand in a supportive, team-oriented environment., Enrolled for classes at Ohio University, Hocking College, another post-secondary education institution, or a secondary school during the current semester, immediate previous semester, or immediate upcoming semester. Able to follow instructions and complete tasks within deadlines. Basic knowledge of office software and communication tools. Departments may have specific minimum requirements., * Currently enrolled as a student at Ohio University in good academic standing.
- Experience managing or contributing to social media accounts and content calendars.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or similar university-approved content creation tools.
- Good writing skills with the ability to adapt voice and tone across platforms and audiences.
- Familiarity with major social media platforms, including their native scheduling and analytics tools.
- Comfortable handling sensitive content (mental health, wellness) with care.
- Experience with a dedicated social media scheduling or analytics tool.
- Background in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field.
- Basic familiarity with social media analytics and data-driven content decisions., This role is primarily desk-based and involves extensive use of desktop computers. Occasionally, the job may require travel to attend meetings and programs.
