Job description

- Schedule laboratory time, stand up testing environments, and rigorously validate software behavior against established acceptance criteria.
- Surface, clarify, and document technical performance thresholds, interface specifications, and operational constraints into actionable engineering tasks.
- Maintain a comprehensive "living map" of stakeholder contacts and escalation paths within the customer organization to ensure seamless communication.
- Represent the organization at integration events, technical demos, and working groups with high levels of credibility and domain expertise.
- Proactively identify technical blockers and integration risks, proposing solutions before they escalate into program-level issues.
- Record outcomes, decisions, and open action items in real-time to ensure zero loss of information across the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Active Secret Clearance (TS/SCI strongly preferred).
- Experience operating within or alongside DoD environments, such as program offices, defense labs, or maritime platforms (ships/submarines).
- Ability to hold informed, deep-dive conversations with software engineers to understand architectural trade-offs and mission impact.
- Strong written and verbal skills with a proven ability to brief diverse audiences and drive responsiveness across unfamiliar organizations.
- A relentless focus on follow-through, with a track record of owning and closing complex open items in high-pressure settings.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with the LM ARCI lab environment, AN/BYG-1, or submarine C4ISR integration pipelines.
- Prior service in submarine sonar, fire control, or C4ISR (e.g., STS, FT, ET ratings or equivalent officer designators).
- Direct experience working with NUWC Newport, NAVSEA, or PEO IWS organizations.
- Exposure to modern message bus architectures (Redpanda, Kafka) or the ability to read code (Rust, C, or Protobuf) to ask informed technical questions.
