Senior Database Administrator

Intercontinental Exchange is looking for a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with strong SQL and PL/SQL programming skills to join our fast-growing company. You will be a member of the Enterprise DBA team, responsible for database management, clustering, backup/recovery, and more. You will also serve as a production DBA to maintain our production systems and occasionally participate in development projects., * Perform database administrative tasks to support production systems

• Provide support for Development and QA teams and environments
• Identify opportunities to fine-tune and optimize database systems and applications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience
• 5+ years of experience in the design, maintenance, and administration of relational databases
• Experienced Oracle DBA with hands-on expertise in Core Oracle Administration, RAC, MAA, Data Guard, and related technologies
• Thorough knowledge of ASM and Grid Infrastructure
• Solid SQL and PL/SQL coding skills
• Experience working in Unix/Linux environments, including kernel and OS tuning
• Performance tuning and troubleshooting using tools and techniques such as OEM Grid Control, Tuning Advisor, AWR, Statspack, TKPROF, SQL Trace, SQL Profiles, SPM, Trace Events, Waits & Latches
• Proficient in Shell scripting
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to react quickly and precisely under pressure
• Ability to independently complete projects with minimal guidance
• Experience building and maintaining infrastructure to support a large server farm
• Strong work ethic; willing to participate in an on-call rotation and support after-hours and weekend work as needed
• Comfortable leveraging AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar) to improve productivity, automate tasks, and accelerate problem-solving
• Ability to learn new technologies independently; self-motivated, intellectually curious, and willing to both learn and share knowledge

Nice to Have

• PostgreSQL administration experience is a strong plus
• MySQL administration experience is a plus
• Oracle GoldenGate knowledge is a plus
• Exadata experience is a plus
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted tools in a database or infrastructure context is a plus
