Job description
This role is critical for developing, implementing,and managing comprehensive accident prevention and safety programs acrossprojects and the company. The Safety Manager will conduct work areaassessments, perform jobsite inspections and audits with a focus on hazardrecognition, and facilitate safety meetings and training programs. Keyresponsibilities include ensuring compliance with federal and stateregulations, supporting job hazard analysis, evaluating program effectivenessthrough field walks, and providing coaching and feedback on safety behaviors.The role also involves supporting incident investigations and managinginjury/illness cases, requiring strong independent work skills, communication,and at least 7 years of construction safety experience, including OSHA 30certification.
What youwill do:
- Develops and manages the administration of theproject/company accident prevention efforts.
- Develop and facilitate appropriate trainingprograms.
- Conduct work area assessments.
- Develop, organize, and implement safetyrelated programs that meet company safety standards.
- Perform and document jobsite inspections andaudits with a focus on hazard recognition and unsafe behaviors.
- Coordinate and conduct safetymeetings/training programs to ensure effective communication amongst employees.
- Participate in regulatory agency inspectionsand investigations to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Ensure safety completion by reviewing the jobhazard analysis for major phases of our work.
- Support Crew Foreman/General Foremen indevelopment of Job Hazard Analyses.
- Evaluate effectiveness of safety programsthrough daily field walks. Regulatory compliance and audit oversight.
- Meet regularly with field personnel andsupport in the development of project specific corrective action plans toaddress safety issues and concerns.
- Provide regular feedback to project leadershipin a constructive manner on needed areas for safety improvement andrecognition.
- Provide coaching and mentoring for employeesexhibiting unsafe behaviors and provide recognition for employees exhibitingsafe behaviors.
- Assist with delivery of jobsite specificsafety orientations for new employees joining the project, as applicable.
- Support Project Leadership in completion ofincident investigations.
Facilitateall injury/illness cases.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years in construction safetyexperience
- OSHA 30 Construction required.
- Experience with union workforce desired.
- Ability to work independently, strongcommunication skills with ability to influence behaviors.
- Proficient in using a computer and MicrosoftOffice (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc., Applicants must becurrently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visasponsorship now or in the future., * Bachelor's degree preferred and 5-8 years of progressive recruiting experience; equivalent experience and education will be considered.
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to interpret and synthesize multiple data sources to guide recommendations.
- A forward-thinking mindset with a willingness to challenge existing approaches and introduce new, strategic solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite-including Word, Excel, Outlook, and related tools-with the ability to leverage these for reporting, tracking, and insights.
- Exceptional organizational skills, curiosity, and a proactive, investigative approach to problem-solving.
- Solid quantitative ability, including comfort with percentages, ratios, and other moderately complex calculations relevant to recruitment analytics and reporting.
Benefits & conditions
CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The starting pay for the Safety Manager position is $100,000 annually to $120,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program.
