Job description
As a Medical Records Health Information Management (HIM) Specialist for Community, you will be integral in safeguarding and protecting patient health information. You should be a knowledgeable problem solver with exceptional communication skills that pays meticulous attention to detail. From retrieval of discharge records, to release of documents, retention, and destruction of records, you will be essential to the compliance of federal, state, and organizational regulations. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your knowledge, all while showcasing your expertise with the largest healthcare system in the Central Valley!, California Driver's License is not required for employees who are permanently assigned to graveyard shift. Requirements
- High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required
- Successful completion of a college level course work or medical terminology course preferred
Experience
- 1 year of hospital clerical or general office experience required
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and basic data entry skills required
Licenses and Certifications
- DL - Valid California Driver's License and driving record acceptable to Community Health System required
