Job description

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

This role supports the Business Operations Data Analytics (BODA) team, which provides critical data visualization and analytics capabilities to Blue Origin's Operations organization. As part of a passionate team of specialists and engineers, you will directly impact our mission by contributing to the development and enhancement of ORBIT-a transformative KPI visualization web application that enables the SVP of Operations to run the business effectively and communicate insights clearly to our CEO.

As an Early Career Software Development Engineer on the BODA team, you will support another SDE across all aspects of application development for the ORBIT platform. Your work will span front-end development in React, back-end services in Python, DevOps operations in AWS, and integration with Blue Origin's data ecosystem including Databricks and other enterprise systems. Your day-to-day activities will include writing and reviewing code, creating and maintaining documentation, implementing new features, and supporting API integrations with various Blue Origin systems. You will leverage AI-powered code generation tools to accelerate development while critically reviewing outputs to ensure they integrate seamlessly into the broader application architecture. Working in a fast-paced, highly responsive environment, you will help translate sometimes ambiguous business requirements into technical solutions through proactive questioning and rapid prototyping.

This position offers long term opportunities as the BODA team completes its primary objectives with ORBIT and identifies new areas to support Operations through innovative application development. You will gain exposure to business operations across the company, develop full-stack engineering skills, and work on solutions that directly influence how Blue Origin runs the Operations business.
