Job description

Lockheed Martin (LM) is looking for an ambitious Software Engineer to become a member of the Training, Logistics and Simulation (TLS) Engineering and Technology Team.

You will perform research and development on advanced modeling and simulation software for distributed training and collaboration. Areas of active technology research include augmented reality, advanced avatars, web based virtual worlds and game based immersive training environments. We conduct this work for US DoD.

You will participate in the entire software development lifecycle including requirements, design, implementation, integration, installation and test. Typical tasks include development of simulations of new vehicles, AI-based behavior development, physics based modeling of systems, enhancement of graphical system performance, and integration with operational systems. Projects are executed by small teams; each member must meet their commitments for the team to succeed.

This position is for a web-based product that is in ongoing development. You will be expected to hit the ground running, quickly learning the architecture and implementing new capabilities in a system that is rapidly deployed to warfighters.

This position will require the selected candidate to have the ability to obtain a Secret level U.S. government security clearance. U.S. citizenship is a requirement for consideration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or Physics

  • 2 or more years of software experience

  • Experience coding with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, ReactJS

  • Knowledge of databases, specifically PostgreSQL

  • Deep knowledge of object-oriented design

  • Knowledge of data structures

  • Knowledge of networking, particularly TCP/IP, UDP

  • Solid understanding of 3D math, particularly vectors and volumes Desired Skills:

  • Experience coding in C++

  • Experience developing for Android

  • Experience developing for Linux

  • Google Material UI

  • Cesium

  • Experience applying genAI Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration., Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
