Job description

  • Database Architecture- Develop and maintain the overall database architecture strategy aligned with business goals. Design scalable and high-performance database solutions using Microsoft SQL and Azure SQL technologies. Ensure database architecture supports data growth, security, and healthcare compliance requirements
  • Database Engineering- Lead the implementation of database solutions, including schema design, indexing strategies, and optimization. Oversee the performance tuning and monitoring of databases to ensure optimal efficiency. Implement and manage data replication, clustering, and other high availability and disaster recovery solutions
  • Data Security- Establish and enforce data security policies and procedures. Implement encryption, access controls, and auditing to ensure data confidentiality and integrity. Regularly review and update security measures to address emerging threats
  • Standardization of SQL Artifacts- Develop and enforce coding standards for SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, etc. Conduct regular code reviews to ensure compliance with coding standards and best practices. Provide training and guidance to the development team on SQL best practices
  • Research Database Development- Design and implement a de-normalized, de-identified research database in Azure. Define and document the data synchronization process from various sources to the research database. Ensure compliance with privacy and healthcare regulations and implement de-identification techniques
  • External Access and Collaboration- Architect and implement secure external access to the research database for authorized users. Collaborate with external partners and vendors to establish data exchange protocols securely. Develop and maintain documentation for external data access policies and procedures
  • Database Analytics- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to design and optimize database structures for analytics. Implement data warehousing and Big Data solutions and analytics tools compatible with Microsoft SQL and Azure SQL. Create and maintain reports and dashboards for business intelligence purposes
  • Continuous Improvement- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in database technologies. Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to existing database systems and processes. Actively participate in disaster recovery planning and testing

Requirements

Savas Software and Lifekind Health are looking for a talented Senior Database Architect who possesses a comprehensive understanding of database architecture, engineering, and security, along with hands-on experience in Microsoft SQL and Azure SQL technologies. Capable of leading a team, collaborating with various stakeholders, and driving continuous improvement in database systems and processes., * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

  • Extensive experience in Database Architecture and Engineering, particularly with Microsoft SQL and Azure SQL
  • Strong knowledge of data security and privacy regulations in the healthcare sector
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing large-scale, high-performance databases
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and leadership skills
  • Experience in the healthcare technology space, including EHR/EMR systems, HL7/FHIR integrations, or healthcare data workflows preferred
  • Familiarity with Azure services, Azure Functions, or cloud-native architectures preferred
  • Experience with microservices, messaging/queuing systems, or distributed applications preferred
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, HITRUST, or related compliance frameworks a plus
