Job description
As a Cloud/Platform/Systems Specialist, you will support senior technical resources while leading infrastructure initiatives that modernize hybrid cloud platforms and enterprise systems. You will focus on designing, optimizing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and resilient hybrid environments that bridge on premises infrastructure with cloud services, reducing reliance on legacy solutions and improving operational efficiency, automation, and reliability across the organization., * Design, administer, and optimize hybrid platforms integrating on premises infrastructure with cloud services.
- Design and manage cloud environments supporting enterprise workloads including compute, networking, storage, and identity services.
- Create hybrid workload patterns enabling seamless identity, authentication, and application services across cloud and on premises systems.
- Lead legacy system migration efforts including modernization roadmaps and workload readiness assessments.
- Develop and maintain detailed system and cloud architecture documentation and diagrams.
- Provide senior level support for escalated issues from service, application, networking, or automation teams.
- Diagnose complex identity, networking, or compute issues impacting dependent applications.
- Document troubleshooting processes, root cause analyses, and mitigation strategies.
- Strengthen platform resilience by eliminating single points of failure and ensuring backup, recovery, and disaster recovery requirements are met.
- Monitor and optimize compute, storage, and network performance across hybrid platforms.
- Build and maintain performance and cost monitoring dashboards.
- Identify and implement cost optimization strategies through rightsizing, storage tiering, and automation.
- Maintain infrastructure as code artifacts, architecture standards, operational procedures, and version controlled documentation.
- Prepare change impact analyses and release documentation for infrastructure updates.
- Collaborate with automation teams to define infrastructure as code patterns and support CI/CD pipelines for platform deployments.
- Work closely with engineering and application teams to optimize hybrid workloads for performance, scalability, and cost.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation to support compliance audits, knowledge transfer, and operational continuity.
- Implement and document security controls and compliance standards across cloud and on premises environments.
- Produce audit evidence, platform hardening guides, operational runbooks, and onboarding materials.
- Deliver architecture standards, reference materials, annotated diagrams, and executive level briefings on modernization initiatives.
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of experience designing, administering, and supporting hybrid cloud and on premises infrastructure.
- Strong experience designing and managing cloud environments including compute, networking, identity, and storage services.
- Hands on experience migrating legacy systems to cloud platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for complex hybrid infrastructure issues.
- Experience implementing backup, disaster recovery, and high availability solutions.
- Proficiency with infrastructure as code and automation concepts.
- Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment.
- Strong understanding of identity management, authentication, and access controls.
- Experience implementing security guardrails, compliance controls, and audit documentation.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and problem solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, application, automation, and security teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including executive level reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
