Job description
We are seeking a hands-on Director of Information Technology to lead and execute our company's IT strategy, infrastructure management, and cybersecurity initiatives. This is not a purely administrative role. We need a technical leader who can architect solutions, execute projects independently, and mentor a junior technician.
This position is fully on-site and requires deep experience with Microsoft 365 administration, including leading a tenant-to-tenant migration.
You will be responsible for ensuring a secure, scalable, and reliable technology environment that supports day-to-day operations and long-term growth.
What You'll Own
Technology Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute a forward-looking IT roadmap aligned with business objectives.
- Establish IT governance, policies, and operational standards.
- Manage IT budgeting, vendor relationships, licensing, and procurement.
- Identify and implement technology improvements that increase efficiency and reduce risk.
Infrastructure & Cloud Operations
- Oversee network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, VPN, and wireless systems.
- Manage servers (on-prem and cloud) and core business platforms.
- Administer and secure the Microsoft 365 environment (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID).
- Lead complex initiatives such as Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant migrations and system upgrades.
- Own backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
- Maintain high system uptime and operational performance across all locations.
Cybersecurity & Risk Management
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls and monitoring solutions.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and proactively mitigate risks.
- Lead incident response and remediation efforts.
- Deliver security awareness training to employees.
Technical Operations & Support
- Provide Tier 2/3 escalation support for complex issues.
- Oversee endpoint deployment and lifecycle management.
- Support remote users and multi-site environments.
- Ensure structured ticketing, documentation, and service processes are in place.
Team Development
- Supervise and mentor one IT Helpdesk Technician.
- Build accountability, structure, and continuous improvement within IT operations., * Stable, secure, and highly available infrastructure.
- Reduced security risk exposure.
- Efficient IT operations with measurable ticket resolution performance.
- Successful project delivery on time and within budget.
- High internal user satisfaction.
Work Environment
- 100% on-site presence required.
- Occasional after-hours availability for maintenance or critical incidents.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. for equipment deployment.
Requirements
Do you have experience in VPN management?, * 10+ years of progressive IT experience.
- 5+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong Microsoft 365 administration expertise, including tenant-to-tenant migrations.
- Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPN, switching).
- Experience with Active Directory and cloud identity management.
- Endpoint management and security platform experience.
- Backup and disaster recovery planning experience.
- Ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on.
