Job description
The Senior Platform Engineer would be involved with development, implementation of traditional compute, network, storage systems and related deployments, as well as support improving the program platform's over-arching design through new emerging technologies. This includes existing operating systems and server hardware designs, as well as supporting the design and development of new modernized system architectures through automation tools.
What You Will Do
- You will leverage company and industry best practices and capabilities to assist with deployment, implementation, modernization, and support of IAC solutions
- Write Infrastructure as Code (IaC) in support of transitioning a system that is tightly coupled to the underlying infrastructure to a modern platform infrastructure
- You will assist with design, architecture, development, and support of build/test pipelines and optimizing integration for performance and scalability across physical or virtualized based computing environments
- You will support software tool customization and automation including deployment of templates, dashboards, and scripts to support program needs utilizing Ansible Playbooks
- Collaborate with DT, GSS Security, software and system engineers to design and implement development and mission solutions
- Integrate security and compliance into the platform with services such as encryption and access management
- Provide operational support for the platform
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools such as Terraform and/or Ansible
- Hands on Experience with Linux/Windows Operating Systems and Virtualization technologies
- Experience with software deployment and integration
- Experience with Agile Development Methodologies, e.g., Scrum and SAFe
- Current CompTIA Security + or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- This job is onsite in Plano, TX; applicants must be in the area or willing to relocate to it.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting CI/CD Pipelines tools (E.g. Jira, Confluence, Bit Bucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, Gitlab)
- Background in COTS/FOSS product installation, configuration, and integration
- Experience designing, implementing, and integrating platform infrastructure services using infrastructure as code (IaC)
- Multi-disciplined infrastructure experience and expertise (Server, Storage, Network Hardware)
- Experience with programming languages (E.g. Python, Java, Ruby, Bash, C++, C#, Go).
- Experience troubleshooting performance, reliability, and availability issues across Linux/Windows based platforms and infrastructure services
- Experience with containerization using technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Podman, Helm, Rancher
Benefits & conditions
The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
