Job description

Insight Global is seeking a Secret QA Automation Lead that is curious to learn new and complex technologies, have a drive to contribute new ideas for future testing strategies, and be passionate about writing reliable, efficient, and maintainable automated tests. You will be expected to ensure the quality of large-scale software by working with Program Management, Project Management, and other Engineers to translate functional requirements into comprehensive test plans and robust, scalable, and supportable automated test solutions. You will participate in the full development lifecycle, actively troubleshoot issues, and take ownership of the automated regression suite in production-critical environments. You should be eager and willing to train and mentor other QA Engineers on the team. As a Team Lead, you will also be expected to quickly learn and adapt to our development processes, practices, and environments. You will need to dive into our existing test architecture and, over time, assist other Engineers and System Architects in providing suggestions to improve the overall design and direction of our quality assurance strategy. Additionally, you will be responsible for providing direction to your team, offering career guidance on ongoing performance and future growth opportunities, and ensuring program requirements are met for all assigned work.

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and robust test automation frameworks utilizing Playwright.
  • Manage, mentor, and guide a team of QA Engineers, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Define and report on key quality metrics to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of automated test plans for new features and regression cycles.

Requirements

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • Proven experience leading a team of QA engineers, covering task assignment, performance management, technical mentorship, and a demonstrated ability to contribute as a hands-on technical expert
  • Minimum of 5 years of combined professional experience with Playwright or equivalent automated testing framework such as Selenium or Cypress.
  • Strong experience designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD testing strategies and pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI)
  • Strong understanding of the SDLC and STLC, including Agile principles, best practices for code quality (reviews, standards), and CI/CD
  • Strong logical thinking skills and a solid understanding of QA fundamentals, including test plan creation, test case design, and defect management.
  • Understanding of system architecture and experience with testing distributed systems
  • A sound understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, and software design patterns as they apply to building scalable test automation frameworks
  • Strong organizational skills and a self-motivated, detail-oriented approach to tasks.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

  • Experience leveraging AI-powered tools and generative AI to accelerate the development, debugging, and optimization of automated tests
  • Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript for test automation, with additional experience in languages like Python being a plus.
  • Experience with modern web application frameworks (e.g., React, Vue) and related runtime environments (e.g., NodeJS)
  • Experience with container runtime environments such as Docker and container-orchestration systems such as Kubernetes
  • Development in a Linux environment

Benefits & conditions

$45/hr to $52hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
