Job description
The Finance Data & Automation Analyst is responsible for improving the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of the Finance function through data analysis, automation, and technology-enabled process improvements. This role partners closely with Finance leadership and cross-functional teams to streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, enhance reporting, and leverage data to support decision-making., Finance Process Optimization & Automation
- Identify inefficiencies, manual processes, and pain points across Finance operations (reporting, budgeting, close, reconciliations, grants, AP/AR)
- Design and implement automation solutions to reduce manual effort, errors, and cycle time
- Build and maintain automated workflows, scripts, and tools to support recurring finance processes
- Standardize and document finance processes, controls, and automation logic
Data Analysis & Reporting Enablement
- Develop and maintain financial dashboards, metrics, and self-service reporting tools
- Analyze large and complex financial datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and improvement opportunities
- Translate business and finance requirements into scalable data and reporting solutions
- Support leadership with scenario modeling, forecasting support, and data-driven insights
Systems & Technology Enablement
- Act as a bridge between Finance and IT / Systems teams
- Support integration and data flows between finance systems, donor/grant systems, and reporting platforms
- Assist with financial system implementations, upgrades, and optimizations
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and governance across systems
Collaboration & Change Management
- Partner with Finance team members to understand workflows and design user-friendly solutions
- Train and support end users on new tools, dashboards, and automated processes
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, data literacy, and technology adoption within Finance
Requirements
Do you have experience in Scalable systems?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, The ideal candidate is a hybrid thinker-part analyst, part technologist, part problem-solver-who understands finance operations and can apply programming, systems, and automation tools to simplify and modernize how work gets done., * Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field preferred
- 2-4+ years of experience in data analytics, finance transformation, financial systems, or process improvement
- Demonstrated experience improving operational efficiency through automation or technology
- Experience working with finance or accounting teams strongly preferred
Technical Skills & Tools Data & Analytics
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction and analysis
- Advanced Excel skills (Power Query, Power Pivot, complex formulas)
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar
Programming & Automation
- Working knowledge of Python, R, or similar scripting languages for automation and analysis
- Experience with automation tools such as Power Automate, Alteryx, UiPath, or similar
- Ability to build repeatable, scalable automation solutions
Finance & Systems
- Familiarity with financial and ERP systems such as:
- Sage Intacct
- Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT
- NetSuite
- QuickBooks
- Experience integrating data from multiple systems (ERP, donor/grant systems, budgeting tools)
- Understanding of core finance processes (close, reporting, budgeting, fund accounting)
- Experience with APIs, data warehousing, or cloud-based data platforms
