Data Governance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Specialist with hands-on experience in implementing Microsoft Purview to drive enterprise-level governance across complex data ecosystems. This role is pivotal in ensuring data integrity, regulatory compliance, and strategic data utilization in the investment banking domain. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in data governance frameworks, data quality, and regulatory compliance - with the technical skills to operationalize Microsoft Purview across the organization. \r\r, r\r \r

• Lead the end-to-end implementation and configuration of Microsoft Purview for enterprise-wide data governance.\r
• Design and deploy data governance frameworks aligned to investment banking operations, risk, and regulatory needs.\r
• Collaborate with data stewards, owners, and stakeholders to define and manage:\r \r

• Metadata standards\r
• Data classification\r
• Data lineage\r
• Data quality rules\r \r\r

• Integrate Microsoft Purview with Azure Data Services, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and other enterprise data platforms.\r
• Ensure compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and financial industry regulations (e.g., BCBS 239, SOX).\r
• Provide training, enablement, and documentation on Purview capabilities, ensuring adoption across business and technical teams.\r
• Act as a trusted advisor for data governance best practices and policy enforcement.\r

• Proven experience in Microsoft Purview implementation in enterprise-scale environments.\r
• Minimum 5 years of experience in data governance, data management, or related disciplines.\r
• In-depth knowledge of investment banking data domains, regulatory landscapes, and risk/compliance mandates.\r
• Strong expertise in:\r \r

• Data cataloging and classification\r
• Data lineage visualization\r
• Data quality measurement and management\r
• Policy enforcement\r \r\r

• Familiarity with AI/ML data governance and ethical data usage practices.\r

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.\r, r\r \r

• Successful delivery of at least one full-scale Microsoft Purview rollout.\r

• Proficiency in Azure Synapse, Data Lake, Power BI, and Microsoft Fabric integration.\r

• Understanding of data privacy laws and financial compliance frameworks.\r

• Experience working in hybrid/cloud enterprise environments and across cross-functional teams.\r

• Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or equivalent\r
