Job description

  • Develop, decompose, analyze, and manage requirements for the Patriot System Maintenance Control and Diagnostics Software, ensuring alignment with operational and stakeholder needs.
  • Develop and maintain requirements documentation, including specifications, interface control documents, and verification plans.
  • Conduct system integration activities to ensure seamless interaction with the broader Patriot system.
  • Plan, execute, and document system-level test procedures to validate software functionality and verify performance in support of the Patriot system.
  • Analyze test results to identify issues, troubleshoot problems, and recommend solutions to optimize system performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, software, hardware, and project management, to ensure successful project execution.
  • Support risk assessments and mitigation planning for systems engineering activities.
  • Support technical reviews, including Technical Manuals (TM), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR) and Critical Design Reviews (CDR).
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards, guidelines, and customer requirements.
  • Ability to travel domestically and present systems, requirements changes to Patriot partners quarterly (optional)
  • Ability to travel up to 15% internationally.

Requirements

Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date, The Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities team is seeking a highly motivated Senior Systems Engineer to develop and manage software requirements development, integration, and verification activities across the full engineering lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in writing software requirements as well as performing system integration and testing. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge missile defense technologies in a collaborative and innovative environment., * Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience

  • Experience developing and managing software requirements and/or software specifications
  • Hands-on experience supporting software integration and/or system-level verification testing
  • Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain a Final Secret U.S. government issued security clearance after start.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance
  • Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS or equivalent) and configuration control practices
  • Experience with C++ and/or ADA
  • Knowledge of relevant standards (e.g., DO-178, DO-254, MIL-STD-810, etc.).

Benefits & conditions

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
