Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science.\n
  • Three or more (3+) years of professional experience in software development, preferably in the aerospace or instrumentation domain.\n
  • Strong coding, analytical and problem-solving skills.\n
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.\n
  • Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail.\n
  • Proficiency in C#, C, and C++ programming languages (preferred).\n
  • Understanding of Information Assurance (IA) processes and standards (preferred).\n
  • Familiarity with HTML coding for GUI development (preferred).\n
  • Knowledge of software configurations and microprocessor systems (preferred).\n
  • Exposure to communication protocols such as Ethernet, RS232, RS422, etc. (preferred).\n
  • Experience with additional programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Lua) is a plus.\n
  • Current Driver's License required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.\n
  • U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Top Secret Security Clearance prior to start date and maintain a Top Secret clearance throughout employment.\n
  • All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.\n

At the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division in \nPatuxent River, \nMD, \nSA-TECH supports the Aircraft Instrumentation Division (AID) of the Prototyping, Experimentation, and Instrumentation (PIE) Department and we are currently looking to hire a \nSoftware Engineer / Computer Scientist to develop, test and maintain software applications in support of NBT, F35 and ASG.\n \n The following \nKey Responsibilities are basic requirements (other duties may be assigned as needed):\n \n \n

  • Develop, test, and maintain software applications using C#, C, and C++.\n
  • Software development, deployment, and troubleshooting.\n
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement aircraft instrumentation systems.\n
  • Configure and optimize software for microprocessors and embedded systems.\n
  • Develop and troubleshoot communication protocols such as Ethernet, RS232, RS422, and others.\n
  • Contribute to GUI development using HTML coding as needed.\n
  • Ensure compliance with Information Assurance (IA) processes and standards.\n
  • Document software designs, processes, and testing results to ensure traceability and compliance.\n
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and tools relevant to aircraft instrumentation.\n

  • Conditions will vary but most of the work will be performed in enclosed buildings.\n
  • Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching.\n
  • Work will include lengthy sessions at a computer.\n
