Job description
Vessco Water is seeking an Analytics and AI Architect to define and shape the analytics and AI layer of our enterprise data platform. This role sits at the intersection of business strategy, data modeling, and analytics design-ensuring that data is translated into trusted metrics, scalable semantic models, and meaningful insights.
You will work directly with business leaders to document requirements and design analytics and AI use cases, while partnering closely with the Lead Data Engineer to ensure those needs are realized through scalable, well designed semantic models. Beyond solution design and delivery, this role plays a critical part in enabling the business to effectively use data, build reports, and responsibly leverage AI capabilities.
This is a senior, hands on individual contributor role focused on architecture, influence, and enablement.
KEY DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Partner with business leaders to translate decision making needs into analytics, reporting, and AI requirements.

Architect and maintain enterprise semantic models, metrics, and definitions that ensure consistent, trusted insight.

Collaborate with the Lead Data Engineer to align analytics and AI design with the enterprise data platform.

Design and deliver high impact dashboards, reports, and AI enabled analytics solutions.

Enable self service analytics and responsible AI usage through standards, coaching, and best practices.

Serve as a trusted advisor on how data, analytics, and AI should be applied to solve business problems.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Solution architecture design?, Experience & Capabilities

6+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data driven architecture roles

Proven experience working directly with business stakeholders to gather and translate requirements

Strong background designing semantic models, business metrics, and analytic layers

Hands on experience delivering dashboards, reports, and analytical insights used by the business

Ability to balance standardization with flexibility to support self service analytics

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to non technical audiences

Comfortable operating independently and owning architectural outcomes end to end
Core Technologies & Skills

BI and analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar)

Advanced SQL for analytics and reporting

Data modeling concepts (facts, dimensions, measures, business logic)

Experience working with modern cloud data platforms (data warehouses or lakehouses)

Strong analytical and business first mindset
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced / Nice to Have

Experience partnering closely with data engineering teams on enterprise data platforms.

Hands on experience with AI enabled analytics or applied AI use cases.

Experience designing or supporting self service BI at scale.

Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and trusted metric frameworks.

Experience working in multi entity or platform based organizations.
Preferred Technologies

Cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse, BigQuery)

Semantic modeling frameworks (e.g., Power BI semantic models, LookML, dbt metrics)

Python or similar languages for analytics or AI experimentation

Experience with AI tools or services used in business analytics

Microsoft ecosystem familiarity (Power BI, Fabric, Azure AI, Copilot)
