Job description
SPA's ORCA group is seeking a junior-level Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Analyst to provide on-site support in San Diego, CA to the Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC) and Space Security & Defense Program (SSDP). SPA employs its simulation system products in support of operations, experimentation, and the acquisition analysis process. MBSE Analysts apply MBSE principles and tools to create models that communicate complex system concepts and support the system design and analysis process. Candidates must be able to work independently and as part of a team. #KS, Responsibilities: Create digital model-based representations of systems and architectures that adhere to SysML syntax rules and style conventions. Translate system requirements and concepts of operation into parametrized structural and behavioral models according to MBSE principles. Assist in the analysis of the performance of DoD programs and systems using commercial and proprietary modeling and simulation tools. Leverage architecture data, modeling, simulation, and analysis assessment processes to evaluate metrics across multiple courses of action. Conduct data collection and specification reviews. Assist in the preparation of deliverables, including presentations and written reports of findings and recommendations. Participate in customer meetings and briefings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or related field
- At least 2 years of industry experience with MBSE, with demonstrated expertise with Cameo Systems Modeler and/or similar modeling tools
- Practical experience in modeling structure and behavior of systems with Systems Modeling Language (SysML) or Unified Modeling Language (UML)
- Coursework or experience that demonstrates understanding of object-oriented principles as they apply to programming and/or system engineering
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must be able to work both collaboratively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision
- Current DoD Top Secret clearance is required, and the ability to maintain it throughout employment
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Operations Research, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or related field
- Experience in analysis of complex, system-of-systems designs; preferably of C4ISR systems
- 2 years of industry experience with DoD / Navy / Space Force programs, systems and missions
- Practical experience in modeling with Unified Architecture Framework (UAF), Unified Profile for DoDAF/MODAF (UPDM), and other MBSE languages, frameworks, and ontologies
- Object Management Group (OMG) Certified SysML Professional (OCSMP) SysML Model User or higher certification

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. California Pay Transparency Range: $95K-$125K.
