Job description

SAIC is seeking a Software/Application Engineer for a FULL REMOTE position to support a US Coast Guard project as part of the Air Force Modeling & Simulation (AFMS) program. (Target salary is $70-80k)

As a Software/Application Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining a Learning Management System (LMS) that provides performant, stable access to a variety of trainings and associated systems. You will be expected to collaborate with a multitude of teams to achieve these ends, including cybersecurity, testing, and infrastructure teams, with an ultimate goal of seamless learning for end-users., * Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and design solutions for the LMS.

  • Support both Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and custom applications in order to maintain live playback, course completions, and training requirement synchronization.
  • Integrate internal and external APIs with a variety of USCG-affiliated stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with QA Engineers to ensure Verification and Validation, as well as system performance
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in software engineering, and application development to drive continuous innovation and improvement.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in languages such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript , and HTML /CSS, with experience with frameworks like Angular or React.js being a plus.
  • Experience with application development for Linux-based platforms.
  • Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
  • Understanding o and willingness to work within an Agile framework
  • Must be a US citizen and currently possess an Active Secret Clearance
  • Must possess a Sec+ or another DoD 8570 compliant certification
  • Bachelor's and Zero (0) or relevant year of experience in lieu of degree

Benefits & conditions

Target salary range: $40,001 - $80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
