Job description

We are seeking a skilled Amazon Web Services (AWS) Mid to support the operation, maintenance, and optimization of cloud-based systems within Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments.

The candidate will play a key role in ensuring system reliability, supporting cloud infrastructure, resolving issues, and contributing to automation and monitoring efforts in a secure and mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and support AWS cloud-based systems, ensuring high availability and performance.

  • Coordinate with network and system administrators to ensure seamless cloud operations.

  • Set up and manage administrator and service accounts, including access controls and permissions.

  • Maintain accurate documentation for cloud infrastructure, configurations, and tenant inventory.

  • Monitor and tune system performance, including compute, storage, and networking resources.

  • Install and manage system-wide software and allocate storage resources efficiently.

  • Respond to large-scale cloud events, including provisioning and scaling of virtual machines and storage services.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve critical system and software failures in AWS environments.

  • Propose and implement automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and scalability.

  • Develop and enhance tools, dashboards, and reports to monitor cloud health and performance.

  • Ensure cloud operations align with security policies and compliance requirements.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement of cloud services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in cloud administration, system administration, or related roles.

  • Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) services (EC2, S3, EBS, VPC, IAM, etc.).

  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, virtualization, and storage concepts.

  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving system and application issues in cloud environments.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash, Terraform).

  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch or similar platforms.

  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).

  • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices in cloud environments.

  • Experience working in federal or regulated environments.

Certifications:

  • IAT Level II required.

  • One or more cloud certifications (AWS preferred)

(e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate)
