Job description
Serve as the lead DevOps engineer and subject matter expert for the B1 program Oversee CI/CD pipelines, build new pipelines as needed, and drive automation maturity Consult on DevOps roadmap, strategy, and modernization away from legacy systems Partner with FIS and other vendors managing the hosted cloud environment Support the bank's release cadence increase from four to six releases annually Participate in rapid communication cycles when major pivots occur Work onsite with Juan Antonio and team M/W/F for problem solving and alignment Coordinate environment readiness, data refreshes, and pipeline stability Provide leadership guidance to team members; work with, not for, the team Join open bridge calls during major issues or releases as needed Help push cloud-native solutions and accelerate migration efforts
Requirements
Strong DevOps engineering background with leadership qualities Ability to lead initiatives, set direction, and serve as SME for DevOps strategy Hands-on CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins, internal tools) Experience building, optimizing, and managing pipelines Cloud experience (AWS or Azure) and ability to drive cloud-native solutions Experience working with vendors (FIS, cloud hosting partners) Ability to work in fast-moving environments with strong communication skills Comfort with on-call / off-hour participation during releases or major issues
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Background in large banking environments, especially Canadian banks Experience in cloud migrations, preferably mainframe-to-cloud transitions Architect-level experience or roadmap creation experience Experience managing enterprise release cycles (4-6 releases a year) Understanding of FIS-hosted environments, mainframes, and data center coordination Demonstrated ability to propose, plan, and execute end-to-end solutions Cloud-native engineering expertise
