Job description
24x7x365. The Systems Engineer will provide advanced technical expertise and operational support to the Current Operations (CUOPS) within USSOCOM. This role ensures the reliability, integration, and optimization of mission-critical systems supporting global special operations forces. The engineer will serve as a key technical advisor, enabling rapid response and continuous operational readiness for CUOPS. * Systems Integration & Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain complex systems supporting NETOPS/CUOPS operational requirements, ensuring interoperability across joint and coalition environments.
- Operational Support: Provide real-time engineering support for current operations, troubleshooting system issues, and implementing rapid solutions to maintain mission continuity.
- Technical Analysis & Optimization: Conduct performance assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend enhancements to improve system resilience and efficiency.
- Configuration & Change Management: Oversee system baselines, manage updates, and ensure compliance with USSOCOM standards and cybersecurity directives.
- Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with J631 leadership, mission planners, and technical teams to align engineering solutions with operational objectives.
- Documentation & Reporting: Develop technical documentation, system diagrams, and operational reports to support decision-making and sustainment planning.
Requirements
Qualifications Required Qualifications: * Min 9 years with HS degree, 7 years with AS/AA degree, 5 years with BS/BA, 3 years with MS/MA
- DoD 8570 IAT II Certification * DoD TS/SCI clearance * Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, Computer Science, or related field (master's preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in systems engineering within Commercial, DoD or SOF environments.
- Expertise in information systems architecture, virtualization, and secure communications systems.
- Strong understanding of USSOCOM mission sets and operational tempo.Desired Skills: * Experience with mission command systems and NETOPS/CUOPS workflows.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and rapid prototyping.
- Ability to operate under high-pressure, time-sensitive conditions.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate OR
- Red Hat Systems Engineer (RHCSE) OR
- AWS Certified Cloud Engineer OR
- VMware Technology Certification OR
- Google Cloud Engineer (Foundational or Associate) OR Equivalent System Engineer
Benefits & conditions
Details Target Salary Range: $66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
