Job description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Configuration Manager to lead and manage configuration management (CM) processes across our software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining configuration management strategies, ensuring that all changes are systematically controlled and documented. This role also includes overseeing release management activities to ensure smooth deployment of software builds across various environments.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive Configuration Management Plan (CMP).
- Define and implement procedures for configuration identification, change control, status accounting, and configuration audits.
- Ensure all configuration items (CIs) are properly identified, versioned, and documented.
- Maintain the integrity and traceability of configuration throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular configuration audits to verify compliance with CM policies and standards.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate software releases across multiple environments (development, testing, staging, production).
- Ensure that builds are properly versioned, tested, and documented before deployment.
- Work closely with DevOps and QA teams to manage release pipelines and deployment strategies.
- Monitor and report on release progress, issues, and outcomes.
Requirements
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of CM tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to plan and deliver technical solutions independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail., * Bachelor's degree
- At least 3 years of experience and with configuration control experience
- Clearance: Public Trust
- Citizenship: US Citizen by birth or naturalization
Benefits & conditions
The salary range for this position is $111,000 - $118,000 annually.
