Job description
Our team is hiring a Principal Software Engineer/Product Owner with development in a Java/Linux environment. In this position, you will be responsible for providing practical solutions to difficult technical software problems. As a Product Owner you will set the direction and vision for the product by defining the product roadmap and communicating the overall goals for the development team. Software Engineering positions include working on a variety of different tasks including application software development, test and verification, data analysis, software tools development, and many others. Teams are organized using Agile scrum methodology. This is an onsite role in Aurora, CO.
What You Will Do
- Maintain and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring that the highest-priority items are at the top and represent the most valuable features for the business.
- Understand the needs, preferences, and priorities of end-users and communicating these to the development team.
- Participate in sprint planning. Working with the development team to select items from the product backlog for implementation in the upcoming sprint.
- Provide technical direction and design to software agile development teams, and other Engineering personnel.
- Seek input and feedback from the customer users, perform technical analyses, and define how the system works by developing system interfaces, use cases, stories, and tasks.
- Work with the Release Train Engineer, System Architect, and Chief Engineer on the development of the SW architecture and technologies to be implemented by the Product Team which they direct.
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
- Agile software development experience using Java and Agile planning and execution.
- Software Team Lead/Scrum Master experience.
- Experience with Sprint and Release Planning in a leadership role.
- Experience performing User Story Creation and Backlog Management.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph is required prior to start date. U.S. Citizenship is required as only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a clearance., * 5+ years of applicable domain experience in the intelligence community.
- Proven ability to perform customer briefings and product demonstrations.
- Proven written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and infrastructure such as Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, or similar.
- Experience in software design.
- Security(+) certifications.

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
