Job description
The Cloud Developer builds from the ground up to meet the needs of mission-critical applications, and is always looking for innovative approaches to deliver end-to-end technical solutions to solve customer problems.
Brings technical thinking to break down complex data and to engineer new ideas and methods for solving, prototyping, designing, and implementing cloud-based solutions.
Collaborates with project managers and development partners to ensure effective and efficient delivery, deployment, operation, monitoring, and support of Cloud engagements.
The Cloud Developer provides business value expertise to drive the development of innovative service offerings that enrich HPE's Cloud Services portfolio across multiple systems, platforms, and applications.
Management Level Definition:
Contributions impact technical components of HPE products, solutions, or services regularly and sustainable. Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Provides expertise and partnership to functional and technical project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Exercises significant independent judgment to determine best method for achieving objectives. May provide team leadership and mentoring to others., * Leads the project team for design and development of complex products and platforms, including solution design, analysis, coding, testing, and integration for building efficient, scalable and robust cloud subsystems.
- Reviews and evaluates designs, test plans, and develops code for compliance with cloud design and development guidelines and standards.
- Provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate risks.
- Represents the engineering team in various technical forums and provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced team members.
- Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the software systems design organization.
- Analyzes science, engineering, business, and other data processing problems to develop and implement solutions to complex application problems, system administration issues, or network concerns.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or closely related quantitative discipline.
- 7 + years' experience softball development.
- 5+ years' experience in designing and developing highly scalable and distributed cloud software applications.
- Demonstrated expertise working with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.
- Solid knowledge of best practices for secure software development.
- Proficient programming skills in Rust (preferable), Golang, Python.
- Familiar with database programming (PostgreSQL).
- Knowledge of Networking principles and practices.
- Experience with systems programming, Linux, Networking.
- Experience with authentication, authorization and accounting (AAA) a plus.
- DevOps experience (Kubernetes and Docker/containerd, Monitoring tools and platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch).
- Self-starter with excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- United States of America: Annual Salary USD 155,500 - 315,000 in California The listed salary range reflects base salary. Variable incentives may also be offered."
