Job Summary/Objective
Provides oversight and guides all aspects of the design, implementation, and administration of server and storage systems, as well as setup and support for the wide area network (WAN) and building network devices. The Network and Systems Engineer works closely with the engineering team in evaluating computing needs and makes recommendations on improvements and modifications to existing infrastructure. Essential Functions/Duties
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Systems Administration:

Perform day-to-day administration of all systems, as necessary, including servers, storage devices, backup software, virtual environment, GoogleAdmin, Microsoft ActiveDirectory, Entra, Office 365, Google Workspace, web filter(s), security platforms, paging system(s), phone system(s), print management platform, security camera platform(s), etc. o Create and maintain user accounts o Maintain system backups in conjunction with the disaster recovery plan o Maintain SharePoint, Teams, and file share permissions o Manage the efficiency of the operation of the current systems o Update network switches, UPS units, and wireless access points o Analyze requirements and design solutions to meet educational and business needs o Evaluate and document emerging network technologies to establish future direction o Participate in long-and short-range technology planning o Maintain documentation regarding network configuration(s), operating procedures, and all service records pertaining to district systems and software o Develop strategic architecture for systems and storage solutions o Manage and oversee implementations of multiple systems, projects, and initiatives o Provide support for mobile device management platform(s) o Develop metrics for measuring the overall health, performance, and capacity requirements for the district's systems infrastructure o Serve as an escalation point for service desk tickets o Install network devices, including servers, storage area networks

(SANs), switches, wireless access points, paging devices, phones, workstations, printers, and other peripheral devices o Attend classes, seminars, and conferences, and review professional literature to enhance knowledge of trends and developments o Establish and follow computer security best practices and implement necessary measures to provide a secure environment o Assist with technology-related security and auditing reviews

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Travel Requirements
Minimal day travel is expected for this position. Occasional overnight and on-call hours with travel may be required. Qualifications
Required Preferred Experience At least five years' experience in information technology and/or related field
- Experience in an urban educational setting preferred.
- Experience with designing, installing, configuring, troubleshooting, monitoring, and maintaining various IT systems and devices preferred
Education Bachelor's degree in information systems or related field Licenses/Certifications Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer Additional Skills/Notes
