Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Cloud Engineer to design, implement, secure, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This role requires deep technical expertise in cloud architecture, cloud costs, automation, and security, with a strong emphasis on compliance with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) and related standards., + Design and implement scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS.

Manage and maintain AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, and CloudWatch.

Provide deep expertise in AWS cost modeling, including cost allocation, forecasting, and optimization strategies.

Continuously analyze and optimize cloud spend using tools such as AWS Cost Explorer, CUR, and third-party platforms.

Educate and mentor engineering teams on AWS best practices, cloud architecture, and cost-efficient design patterns.

Lead cloud architecture decisions and provide technical guidance to engineering teams.

Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.

Implement security controls including IAM, encryption, logging, and monitoring.

Provide support for containerization and orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, and Amazon ECS.

Implement cloud infrastructure hardening (STIGs, etc.) and identify and remediate vulnerabilities (WIZ, etc.).
Requirements

7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure or cloud engineering.

5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services.

Strong experience building, managing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure, storage, and network solutions.

Experience with AWS cost modeling and optimization strategies.

Experience developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.

Experience implementing security controls and cloud infrastructure hardening.

Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, and Amazon ECS.

DoD 8140 Certification.

Bachelor's degree in a computer-related major, such as computer science, electronic engineering, or computer engineering. Additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

AWS Professional level certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional) preferred.

Experience meeting the requirements of compliance frameworks (NIST800-171, NIST800-53).

Understanding of and experience with the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Program.
Benefits & conditions
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $80.00/hr.
