Job description

As a Senior QA Automation Engineer - Java, UI & API Automation, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and maintaining robust UI and API automation solutions that ensure high-quality software delivery. You will be a valued member of a cross-functional delivery team and work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and Architects to embed automation into CI/CD pipelines and Agile delivery processes.

In this role, you will:

Design, develop, and maintain UI and API automation scripts using Selenium and Playwright, including database connectivity and validation.

Perform database connectivity and queries (SQL) as part of automation scripts to validate test results, transactions, and system behavior.

Write and maintain clean, efficient automation code using Java or other scripting languages, following best practices.

Develop and enhance automation frameworks using TestNG, Cucumber, BDD/TDD, or Page Object Model approaches.

Execute and maintain automated test runs as part of nightly builds and CI/CD pipelines, supporting continuous testing.

Perform web services automation testing and collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and automation needs.

Contribute to code reviews, merging automation code, and partner with architects to propose and implement effective automation solutions.

Work within an Agile environment, providing regular updates on automation progress, defects, and execution status using JIRA.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with Selenium and Playwright for UI/API automation, including database integration and validation.
  • Strong coding experience in Java or other scripting languages, with hands-on automation development.
  • Solid understanding and practical experience with automation frameworks such as TestNG, Cucumber, BDD/TDD, or Page Object Model.
  • Experience with web services automation testing and interaction with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with team members on script development, code reviews, and version control.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment with regular status and progress updates in JIRA.

These will help you stand out

  • Experience executing JMeter or other performance testing tools.
  • Exposure to CI/CD tools and pipeline-based automated test execution.
  • Ability to propose scalable and maintainable automation solutions in collaboration with development and architecture teams.
