Job description

Dorman Products is seeking a Data Analyst to join our Quality & Engineering Services team. As a Quality & Engineering Data Analyst you will deliver scalable reporting and analytics for Quality, Engineering, and cross functional teams by building and maintaining Qlik Sense applications, Business Objects reports, and automated Excel-based reporting. The role transforms Quality and Engineering data into accurate KPIs and actionable insights while applying foundational statistical methods to assess performance trends. In this role you will develop and automate data pipelines, improve legacy manual reports, and create structured datasets that support Quality and Engineering analytics. A key responsibility is gathering and translating business requirements into clear technical specifications, partnering closely with data developers and system teams.

This is a hybrid role in our corporate headquarters in suburban Philadelphia (Colmar, PA)with the expectation to be onsite typically Monday through Thursday. Primary Duties

  • Build and maintain Qlik Sense dashboards, Excel-based reporting, and Business Objects outputs to deliver accurate, validated KPIs.
  • Develop clear, executive-ready data visualizations and reporting materials tailored for leadership.
  • Analyze warranty, returns, voice of customer data, and engineering project data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Build and automate recurring data pipelines using Power Query, Power Pivot, Excel automation, and SQL as needed.
  • Redesign legacy manual reports, improving efficiency, sustainability, and alignment with standard reporting logic.
  • Lead requirements gathering, translate business needs into technical specifications, and maintain documentation for processes and data definitions.
  • Apply foundational statistical methods to assess and validate quality and operational performance.
  • Collaborate across Engineering, Quality, Procurement, and Manufacturing while advising on data structure, reporting best practices, and leadership insights.

Requirements

  • Ability to analyze large datasets and translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in data visualization and KPI storytelling for senior leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking capability.
  • High attention to detail in reporting and documentation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 2 to5 years of experience in analytics, data reporting, or engineering/quality support roles.
  • Hands-on experience with Power Query, Power Pivot, and Excel automation.
  • Experience building dashboards in Qlik Sense or similar BI tools.
  • Familiarity with SAP Business Objects (BOBJ/WebI) reporting or willingness to learn.
  • Experience with warranty, returns, QI metrics, or engineering process data (Preferred).
  • Experience extracting and integrating data via APIs, including use of workflow automation tools such as Zapier (Preferred).
  • Experience supporting analytics developers and IT partners (Preferred).

Benefits & conditions

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $76,200.00 to $111,900.00. This role is also eligible for a bonus. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay equity. Compensation decisions are made based on the specific facts and circumstances of each role and candidate.
