Job description

Soo Line Railroad, dba CPKC, is seeking an SAP Basis Administrator - Intermediate in Kansas City, MO, to be responsible for providing an intermediate level of operation support, design, and implementation of all SAP environment components including the Application Server, TMS and interaction with Operating System, and Database systems. The position of SAP Basis Intermediate is responsible for providing an intermediate level of operation support, design, and implementation of all SAP environment components including the Application Server, TMS and interaction with Operating System, and Database systems. The reliability of the environment is paramount in the day-to-day operation of the SAP System Landscape. The specific duties include, * Install, configure, maintain, and support SAP systems, including Solution Manager, SAP NetWeaver Solutions, SAP Business Suite Solutions, and associated components and third-party tools.

  • Execute technical projects such as SAP Implementations, Release Upgrades, Support Pack and Kernel Upgrades, Enhancement Pack applications, AMS support, and System Refresh.
  • Perform SAP Basis System Administration, including maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, performance optimization, archiving, tuning, and workload analysis.
  • Collaborate with functional implementation teams for integration and support of SAP systems.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements within SAP Systems Infrastructure and Architecture.
  • Optimize system performance and availability through High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
  • Participate in DR rehearsals, annual system/database audits, and implement SAP Security Notes and critical patches promptly.
  • Create and maintain documentation for infrastructure, architectural diagrams, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide SAP Basis administration across SAP ECC, SAP BI (BW), SAP GTS, SAP SRM, SAP SCM, SAP MDM, SAP TM, and SAP NetWeaver systems (PI, EP, etc.) on UNIX and Windows operating systems.

Requirements

We require a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Systems. We require a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in SAP Basis support utilizing SAP software, and administration of Windows platforms. This must include at least three (3) years of each of the following (can be gained concurrently): (i) STMS (Transport Management System); (ii) installing, configuring, maintaining, upgrading system solutions, service packs and kernel upgrades; (iii) daily monitoring and troubleshooting of system performance; (iv) client copies and/or refreshes; (v) implementing, maintaining and upgrading SAP and related third party software; and (vi) maintaining current and accurate documentation of systems configuration and operational processes.
